Gdy tajemnicza powódź pochłania znany kotu świat, jedynym schronieniem przed wielką falą staje się stara, drewniana łódź. Szansę na przetrwanie znajdują w niej również inni kapibara, ptak, lemur i pies wśród których kocia natura i niezależność są wystawiane na próbę. Dryfując przez mistyczne, zalane wodą krajobrazy, zwierzęta wspólnie mierzą się z grozą żywiołu i coraz to większymi wyzwaniami. Niebezpieczna żegluga powoli zamienia się w symboliczną podróż, w której każdy przechodzi przemianę charakteru i odkrywa w sobie nowe rodzaje wrażliwości. Kibicując tej nietuzinkowej grupie towarzyszy w ich przygodzie, sami stajemy się częścią załogi.
Flow jest opowieścią o międzygatunkowej przyjaźni i solidarności, której każdy kadr składa się na porywającą, wizualną odyseję. To ciepła, poruszająca historia zarówno dla starszej, jak i młodszej widowni.

Film w reżyserii łotewskiego wizjonera animacji Gintsa Zilbalodisa, po światowej premierze na Festiwalu w Cannes (Konkurs Un Certain Regard), wrócił aż z czterema laurami z Międzynarodowego Festiwalu Filmów Animowanych w Annecy, w tym Nagrodą Jury, Nagrodą Publiczności oraz Nagrodą za Najlepszą muzykę oryginalną i wziął szturmem cały sezon nagród. Flow zdobył Oscara, Złotego Globa i Europejską Nagrodę Filmową dla Najlepszego Pełnometrażowego Filmu Animowanego, a w polskich kinach film zobaczyło już prawe 160 000 widzów!

Festiwalowa premiera w Polsce odbyła się na Festiwalu Filmowym Młode Horyzonty, gdzie film zdobył aż dwa laury w Konkursie Filmowym Odkryć Nagrodę Główną oraz Nagrodę Jury Młodych.

MOVIE BREAK is an intercultural film club where, during a break from studying, we watch films together and discuss them.
Films are a great alternative to traveling they let us reach places we currently cannot access, giving us the opportunity to discover new locations and cultures. Equally important, they provide entertainment. Thats why we want to join forces and create a space open to multiculturalism, but above all, a place for relaxing together with a good film and informal conversations.
The initiative is aimed at the academic community, with special focus on international guests, including researchers, PhD students, and their families. Through film, we want to break down language barriers and get to know one another, as well as the cultures we come from.
Join us for the launch of the Movie Break series, which will take place at the Faculty of Languages and History on October 28, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM in Auditorium 1.43. After the screening, there will be an opportunity for discussion.
Well be showing Flow a captivating film chosen to inaugurate the series. Admission is free, and everyone is warmly welcome!

The cat is accustomed to spending its days in its own company. It treads its own feline paths and sleeps in its favorite spots in the house, which, although full of traces of human presence, seems to belong only to it… But only for now.

When a mysterious flood engulfs the cat’s familiar world, an old wooden boat becomes the only refuge from the great wave. Others also find a chance for survival in ita capybara, a bird, a lemur, and a dogamong whom the cat’s nature and independence are put to the test. Drifting through mystical, waterlogged landscapes, the animals face the terror of the elements and ever-greater challenges together. The dangerous voyage slowly turns into a symbolic journey in which each character undergoes a transformation and discovers new kinds of sensitivity within themselves. Cheering on this extraordinary group of companions in their adventure, we ourselves become part of the crew.
Flow is a story of interspecies friendship and solidarity, with each frame contributing to a thrilling visual odyssey. It is a warm, moving story for both older and younger audiences.

Directed by Latvian animation visionary Gints Zilbalodis, the film, after its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival (Un Certain Regard competition), returned with four awards from the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, including the Jury Prize, the Audience Award, and the Award for Best Original Music, and took the entire awards season by storm. Flow won an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and the European Film Award for Best Animated Feature Film, and has already been seen by nearly 160,000 viewers in Polish cinemas!

The film premiered in Poland at the Young Horizons Film Festival, where it won two awards in the Discovery Film Competition the Grand Prize and the Youth Jury Award.
